John MacKay   Award-winning master composer John G. MacKay continues to be  highly prolific in his creation of lyrical, deeply romantic, and beautiful classical concert music. He began as a child prodigy, embarking upon a career as concert pianist and college professor, all the while perfecting the art and the craft of musical composition.

Asako Hirabayashi   is recognized internationally as both a masterful composer and gifted harpsichordist. Winning multiple competitions and grants throughout her career, her piece "Fandango" received the Honorable Mention Award at the 2008 Alienor International Composition Competition. A frequent guest artist, soloist, and chamber music performer, Dr. Hirabayashi was recently featured as a guest soloist on Garrison Kehlor's Prairie Home Companion radio show.

4/24: "Musical  Chiarascuro : from the French Flourish to Sublime Bach" Concert with a Brazilian recorder virtuoso, Clea Galhano:  8pm, Olivet Congregational Church (1850 Iglehart Ave, St Paul, MN 55104)

5/29: "Crescendo Concert" : 7pm Sundin Music Hall, Hamline University(1531 Hewitt Ave)

5/31: "Music of Asako Hirabayashi" Concert of Asako's works for harpsichord, violin, and fortepiano. Guest performer: Gina DiBello from MN orchestra, Gail Olzewski, 5pm, Olivet Congregational Church (1850 Iglehart Ave, St Paul, MN 55104)

6/9 and 6/10: "Harpsichord Now! (and then) "flinge concert of Boston Early Music Festival 2009, by Alienor International Composition Competition, 

6/9: 3pm Concert II "Haydn to Hirabayashi" First Lutheran Church in Boston, Mass.

6/10: 1pm, Concert III "Bach & Beyond" First Lutheran Church - some of Asako's work will be performed.

 9/18: Faculty recital at the Gustavus Adolphus College with flutist, Emily Sapa ,7pm

 

 

J.J. Swift   The heart-warming music of  J.J. Swift has received tremendous praise from audiences throughout the nation, including  the celebrated  Aspen Music Festival. Composing since childhood, Swift has enjoyed a career evolving from violist to college instructor to orchestra conductor and most recently, music publisher.
